BLEACHER RENTALS FAQ

BLEACHER RENTALS FAQ

Q: how do i know if my bleachers are safe?

You can do an audit of your own bleachers, using our “bleacher safety checklist”. All bleachers, whether mobile or permanent, should be inspected yearly. If you have questions, feel free to call and ask!

          Bleacher Safety Checklist

We also have a blog series that gives more info on bleacher safety, and what to look for. You can find it here: https://bleacherrentals.com/blog/bleacher-safety-series-intro/

Q: where can i rent bleachers?

Bleacher Rentals rents bleachers in Ontario, Florida, Texas, Arizona, Georgia, Oklahoma, and anywhere in between!

Q: Are Bleacher rentals bleachers safe?

Yes! Our bleachers meet all International Building Code requirements. They have stairs, hand railings, enclosed risers, anti-slip footboards, and more, to be as safe as possible.

Q: How do your bleacher trailers work?

Our mobile grandstands are built on trailers. We drive them in place with a pickup truck, put down the jacks, unfold hydraulically, and place the handrails in the stairs.

Q: How long does it take to set up and tear down?

Generally we can have everything set up in about 15-30 minutes /set; tear down is similar time.

Q: Are you insured?

Yes, we carry liability insurance, along with damage, fire and theft for the bleachers.

Q: can your bleachers be setup indoors?

Yes… we can setup indoors, provided you have large enough doorways. Please indicate this in your quote request.

Q: Do we need a building permit for these bleachers?

Generally you will not need a building permit, since our mobile bleachers are engineered mobile structures. However, sometimes local by-law or indoor fire codes can supersede this. Places we generally see the need for permits are downtown Toronto, and inside convention centers. Make sure to check with your local building department if you are unsure. If your site requires permits, they are your responsibility to organize. Your Bleacher Rentals account manager will be happy to help you get any documents they may require about the bleachers (ie. Engineered drawings).

Q: Do you rent bleachers long term?

Yes. We can rent bleachers long term or for just a few hours.

Q: Do you sell bleachers?

Yes. We rent and sell bleachers! Reach out for more info or a quote.

Q: Can we move the units ourselves if need be?

Once the units are setup by our drivers, they should NOT be moved by the event. If you are going to need the bleachers moved mid-event, we can arrange this in advance with our drivers.

If the event plans on moving the bleachers themselves, this MUST be pre-arranged with your account manager. There will need to be an on-site training session completed, and a damage waiver signed. If you move the bleachers yourself (with or without permission), and cause any damage to the units, you will be responsible for any repair costs. If you move the bleachers without proper training and permission, this could impact your liability as well. Please, don’t do it!

Though our drivers make the setup and tear down look easy, there are a few crucial steps that need to be taken to avoid damage to the units, and ensure safety. It is always best to let us do the moving. Just give us a call if you need them moved and we will do our best to get there!

Q: Are your bleachers accessible?

We have option for an ADA seating in the front row, along with uniform stairs and hand rails, that make our bleacher more accessible than most.

Q: Will the bleachers sink into my grass if it rains before set up?

The bleachers themselves won’t sink, but the jacks that support the trailer may squish into a soft surface such as wet grass or sand. We recommend putting a piece of plywood under the jacks before lowering them onto a soft surface to avoid damage to the ground.

If you have concerns about damage to your grounds from driving over the surface, or depressions from the jacks, please make sure to communicate this to your account manager in advance so that our drivers can be prepared with preventative measures.

Q: Can bleachers go on sand?

Yes, but it requires planning. However, we will need to know in advance if they are going to be placed on sand. If the sand is hard packed, it is generally not a problem to drive on and place the bleachers. Sometimes we will need to place subflooring underneath the driving area, or use the help of another machine to get them in place, if the sand is not hard enough. Make sure your account manager knows the details of your event grounds in advance so that proper planning can take place, ensuring a smooth setup.

Q: Do you have to deliver or can I come pick up the units?

We deliver and setup the bleachers. If you are getting multiple sets of bleachers, and have a professional driver with a commercially-insured truck, it may be possible to pickup some of your units, and then have one of our trained drivers do the setup onsite. Talk to your account manager if you would like more information about this option.

Q: Am I able to cancel after I sign my quote?

Yes. Our cancellation policy is laid out in the contract you will sign.

If you cancel 91+ days before the event, you will only forfeit your deposit. If you cancel within 30 days of the event, full payment is required.

We use this cancellation policy so we can best plan and allocate inventory to events.

Q: How long is my quoted price valid?

We honor our quoted prices for 10 days, but bleachers are booked on a first come, first serve basis and the same units are often quoted to multiple events. If you wait longer than 10 days, we may need to adjust your quote due to availability in your area. If we need to bring in a bleacher from further away to service the event, the cost will increase accordingly.

Q: How does the bleacher get into the space?

The bleachers are driven into the space by a pick-up truck (often a dually). They are positioned, jacks are lowered, and then they are opened up.
